Meet the 2009
Professional Development Conference Chairs

Chris Judah-Lauder, 2009 National Conference Chair (left in photo below)

Chris Judah-Lauder teaches fifth through eighth grade music at Good Shepherd Episcopal School in Dallas. She has served on the National Board for AOSA as a Regional Representative and Local Conference ChairsConference Co-chair. Chris is an active instructor of Orff Schulwerk teacher training courses, in-service staff developments and “children’s music in church” throughout the nation. Chris also directs three middle school music ensemble groups that have been featured at international and national conferences including the opening session at the 1995 National Orff- Schulwerk Conference. Chris has thirteen publications and was a contributing author for Macmillan/McGraw’s Spotlight on Music.

Brian Burnett, 2009 National Conference Chair

Brian Burnett teaches elemental music in the Rossford Schools near Toledo, Ohio and is an active instructor for Orff Schulwerk teacher training courses. Brian was a contributor to Macmillan/McGraw-Hill’s Share the Music and Spotlight On Music. He has presented movement and Authentic Assessment workshops at the American Orff-Schulwerk Professional Development Conference, state music conferences, and local chapters across the nation.

Judy Brauer, 2009 Local Conference Chair (second from right in photo)

Judy Brauer has taught first through sixth grade and kindergarten through fifth grade general music classes in the Jefferson School District, Wisconsin for 34 years. She was awarded a Masters Degree in Technology in Education in 2002. Judy is an active member of Greater Milwaukee Orff Dimensions, one of the hosting chapters for this conference, and currently holds a position on the board. She completed Orff levels 1 and 2 in 2004 and 2005. Judy regularly performs with the Madison Symphony Chorus.

Mary Lea Clark, 2009 Local Conference Chair (second from left in photo)

Mary Lea Clark teaches kindergarten through fifth grade general music at Donges Bay Elementary School in Mequon, Wisconsin and was the recipient of the 2004 Outstanding Educator award in the Mequon-Thiensville School District. Mary is past-president of the Greater Milwaukee Orff Dimensions and served on the board since 1998. Mary’s background includes commercial musical assignments in the greater Milwaukee area.
