Explore Japan through taiko drumming. Get insight into culture and traditions while opening a world of improvisation and composition. Approaches collected in Japan and the U.S.
Colleen Casey-Nelson teaches multicultural music and arts integration classes at Central Connecticut State University and is the music director at The Cobb School Montessori in Simsbury, CT. Colleen has presented nationally and was recipient of an Arts Fellowship from the Council for Basic Education, travelling to Japan to collect and study Japanese folk music.

Back to the Basics: Using Keetman's "Elementaria"
Experience activities in elemental music and movement that represent the basic and fundamental principles of Orff Schulwerk, according to Keetman.
Michael Chandler lives in Dallas and teaches in Richardson, Texas. His ensembles have performed at the TMEA Convention in San Antonio. Michael presents workshops and teaches Orff courses. He is an accompanist for the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas. Michael has served on the National Board of Trustees and as a chapter president.

Experienced presenters and teachers of teachers will offer guidance for developing presentation skills with the adult learner in mind.
Judith Cole is Professor at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. She has served as AOSA as President, Vice-President, Recording Secretary and Co-chair of the 1995 Conference. She serves on The Orff Echo Editorial Board and History Committee. For over 20 years, she has taught Orff courses and presented over 100 sessions for chapters, school districts and conferences.

Husband and wife team, Joseph and Andrea Coleman, have been teaching music for the past 18 years. He is the music specialist at St. Richard Catholic School in Jackson, MS and she is the Artistic Director and Founder for Cantabile Youth Chorale.

Cindy Colwell is the director of Music Therapy at The University of Kansas and is currently the Past-President of the Kansas Orff Chapter. She focuses her Orff orchestrations on facilitating musical and non musical goals of students with special needs in either educational or therapeutic settings.

Explore the musical traditions of the Hispanic, Native American and Cowboy cultures through appropriate children’s games, songs and movement from theses cultures.
Rossana Cota has been a music educator in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1989 and currently teaches choir at the middle school level. She has presented workshops for AOSA and MENC conference. She is a co-author of the Clark County School District Elementary Music Curriculum and teaches levels courses at several institutions.
Luis Delgado is currently the Coordinator of Fine Arts with the Albuquerque Public Schools. He also serves on the MENC national executive board as southwest division president. Luis is a very active member of AOSA, has presented many workshops and coordinates the levels training courses for the Albuquerque Pubic Schools.
Crandall, John (# 242)
Recorder Is Elemental
Explore pieces for beginning recorder and Orff ensemble composed by the presenter and adapted from the volumes. Bring Vol. I and soprano and alto recorders.

John Crandall teaches grades K-5 general music at Amelia Elementary in suburban Cincinnati, OH. He has completed all three levels of Orff training, twice. In his spare time John performs as a recorder soloist and serves as President of the Greater Cincinnati Chapter.

Explore the lasting significance of the Schulwerk in the lives of students living in the age of the internet and cell phones.
Paul Cribari teaches music in the Cherry Creek School District, CO. He received degrees from the University of Northern Colorado and the University of St. Thomas. Paul is a regular clinician for local chapters and has presented at AOSA conferences in Louisville, Cincinnati, and Birmingham. Paul teaches courses across the country.
