AOSA's Education Director

Steven Calantropio

Steven Calantropio, now retired, taught elementary school music and movement in the River Edge,New Jersey public schools for 31 years. During that time, he received numerous awards and accolades for his work with children and the Orff Schulwerk approach. Mr. Calantropio is a graduate of New Jersey's William Paterson College and Ohio University, receiving his Orff training at the Manhattan School of Music in New York Cityand at the Orff Institute in Salzburg. He is a well known presenter at Orff Schulwerk conferences and workshops both nationally and internationally. Steven has served as a member of the AOSA Board of Trustees and numerous off-board committees. He has been a member of AOSA for 30 years.

I look forward to working with the many talented and energetic people who make up this vital force in American music education. My many years of experience with AOSA have prepared me to be part of this exciting transitional period in our organization's history."
