The International Outreach Program was established in 2001 with a gift from Frau Liselotte Orff and the Orff Foundation to help promote Orff Schulwerk through the spirit and energy prevalent among American Orff Schulwerk teachers. The program supports international workshops and courses by partially funding the travel of AOSA-approved teachers to work in developing programs overseas, especially in countries where there is a significant need for Orff Schulwerk professional development. AOSA actively seeks applications from institutions and organizations interested in offering Orff Schulwerk courses, as well as AOSA teachers interested in teaching internationally.

AOSA’s International Outreach Committee (IOC) provides oversight for the International Outreach Program by reviewing requests for funding by international institutions interested in hosting an AOSA-approved teacher. It also encourages applications from qualified AOSA teachers who are interested in teaching in an overseas Orff-related course. Grants to fund AOSA teacher travel are awarded based on worthiness of the project, qualifications of the applicant, and availability of funds.

Applications for international courses and teachers are accepted throughout the calendar year, but must be submitted at least three months prior to commencement of a workshop. The IOC makes recommendations to the National Board of Trustees one month prior to their meetings, which take place in September, November, and March.  If you have further questions, please contact International Outreach Committee Chair, Amy Beegle at amy.beegle@uc.edu.
