The American Orff-Schulwerk Association is a professional organization of music and movement educators dedicated to the creative teaching approach developed by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman. We are joined by our belief that learning about music - learning to sing and play, to hear and understand, to move and create - should be an active and joyful experience. Our mission is:

To demonstrate the value of Orff Schulwerk and promote its widespread use.
To support the professional development of our members.
To provide a forum for the continued growth and development of Orff Schulwerk that reflects the diversity in contemporary American society.

Join AOSA
Music and movement teachers find in the Orff Schulwerk a total approach to fostering creativity and conveying musical knowledge and skills. Using their voices to speak and sing, and their bodies to move and dance, children joyously progress from musical imitation to improvisation and literacy.
